The photograph was taken through the window on 1st July 2007.
The haiku was prompted by the "feathered friends" theme at One Deep Breath.

A photograph taken just a few hours later can be seen on Summer Haiku 2007.

I dont like storms, so this has a scary effect for me. I like the way it builds up, very horror movie-esque. Strong sense of beginning, middle, end.

It always fascinates me how birds can survive the lash of mother nature and then a single gust a wind can come along unexpectedly and its all over with.

OK, you got me again! I visited this site from the link at SummerHaiku and saw an entirely different photo and no words. LOL! Anyway, I do really like the haiga above. We've been having a rainy summer so far here, and that feeling it captures has been around a lot.

@Patricia (a/k/a Roswila): Hi roswila -- aminus3 works a bit different to blogger and you have to scroll through the tiny thumbnails at the top to find earlier and later photos. You can only post a maximum of one a day but it allows one to display larger pictures more easily.

These words and image will be long-lasting. Nice!

I love your haiga! Birds gathering before a storm always reminds me of the way cows often sit together in a field, like they are waiting around for something!
