A new gas main is being laid along Market Street, Hyde.

@Ida: it is causing much traffic delays but on the whole it is a fascinating mess and the job does need doing.

Roadworks and rocks on the beach I pass daily, and neglected( I never gave them a thought!) to have for r today. It's a mess isn't it.

Curious that some of the fittings and other gear they have there look to be modeled on the 19th Century originals but made in plastic!

Whenever I see sites like this (and your photo is amazingly clear and detailed), I am surprised they can figure out what they are doing down there in that mess.
