I just love the Welsh language. I don't understand a word of it but seeing those double-language signs always gives me a respect for the people who manage to keep it alive.

Here in the U.S. they'd probably also have a translation in Braile, Spanish, Chinese, and Hindi, just so nobody would feel left out.

I'd love to be able to read and speak Welsh.

I have a Welsh hymn, Hiraeth, that I am attempting to letter as a framed piece. It's so difficult to get through it without making a spelling error since the letter combinations are so, well, counter-intuitive to an English speaker. I am going to keep going with it until I am able to letter it through with no mistakes, even if it's only one verse.

I noticed when in Wales that all the signs are in both languages. Good thing because I don't think I could ever learn Welsh! Great photo!

I'm fascinated that the Welsh word for "Danger" appears to be nearly identical to the English word "Peril." Or at least, that's how I imagine it is pronounced....
