Borders Closing Down

The book store chain Borders closed down in December 2009. This was their store in Stockport. The "up to 50% off" posters during the closing down sales appear to be indentical to the ones that went up at Woolworths twelve months before.

Our Borders closed last year or late the year before. It's a bummer; I really liked that place.

It's always a shame when a bookstore has to close. I feel as if a bit of imagination is lost like that.

We used to have a Borders in our mall. I will have to check and see if it is still open! Great B! Goodbye to a great bookstore!

Borders closing was a terrribly sad thing. We couldn't even get to our nearest one (an hour away) due to the snow!

A pity indeed, since we have a grand total of ONE decent bookshop in this city.

Is this a sign of the times? Borders is one USA business that has not expanded into Canada. The big box book store here is Chapters. Perhaps I could use it next week for ABC Wednesday Letter "C". Your choice this week is a good photo. See ya' next week for the challenge.
