This deadly fungus, whose name escapes me, was photographed in the grounds of Oswaldtwistle Mill, Lancashire on 6th November 2006.

I've remembered the name: it is a "fly agaric". There is a close-up shot of this and further information on my blog Ackworth born, gone West
