Taxi in El Venizelou Square, Chania

Posted by
sithenah (Greater Manchester/Cheshire, United Kingdom) on 4 November 2007 in Transportation and Portfolio.

This is the seventeenth of thirty photographs from our visit to Crete in September/October 2006.

The fully wheelchair accessible taxi dropped us off in the centre of Chania one evening and duly picked us up again later. It wasn't cheap but neither was it outrageously expensive.

I have already published a different set of sixty photographs on my website at Crete 2006. You'll also find there some accounts of our visit and links to relevant websites.

this taxi is registered at the same taxi cooperative that my husband works for. it is the only disabled people's taxi service available in western crete. it's operated by a semi-retired professional driver, who's paid by the co-operative to run the taxi on their behalf
