I am very impressed with the perspective in this photograph and the color and texture of the clouds against the hard steel in the bridge. Just a nice photo.

@SandyCarlson: The pier was just nearing completion of its renovations then and the section beyond Marine Drive (the pier extends back towards the town about as far behind as you can see forward here) wasn't yet open to the public.
You always "hide" your most beautiful pictures here. A most simple but even more impressive composition. I take off my hat.

@RuneE: The Aminus format allows for presenting larger-scale pics than does blogger - I'm going through my older archives and intend to post a skywatch pic-from-the-past here each week while posting more recent contemporary shots on my more regular blog.

As soon as I saw the sea that far out, I knew it had to be Southport. When we were children my dad used to do a mill run to there ocassionally and he would bring us seashells back!
