I like this blog and think of it more like I would think of somebody putting up an art-type site. It is not your man down the street blog, or it seems beyond that style to me. I stand in total awe of men, ages ago now, that stood where you stood when you took this photograph and imagine the time when this great building would still be wowing visitors. Forget the cameras and all the stuff we have. Just imagine what it was like. I can and would think that times were in their own way, richer.
Anyway, it is a nice blog, Gerald. I like the others too and do not visit as often as I would like but then I have been disillusional since I have also been pain free for over ten days and nights. I slept without oxygen last night for the first time and my voice came back this morning. Imagine that.
I think this is the best Sky Watch Friday yet. The things I have seen are very encouraging and the photography is spot on.
I really admire your photography choices and your critical eye for composition, lighting and texture.

It is incredible how many magnificent churches there are that can be found all over the UK, even at fairly small places you shouldn't think would have been able to afford them (Ido not know anything about Cobh though).
Thank you for sharing.

@RuneE: Cobh is in the Republic of Ireland so not part of the UK. It is near the city of Cork.
Thank you for joining in with Sky Watch this week.. your pictures, comments and time a very much appreciated by many.

Great catch for SWF! This reminds me the quote... "God and Nature first made us what we are, and then out of our own created genius we make ourselves what we want to be. Follow always that great law. Let the sky and God be our limit and Eternity our measurement".... Happy weekend! Mine's up too hope you can drop by..

There is a charming softness in this image which, together with those lovely pastel colors makes this a place I'd like to be.
