They are certainly doing a thorough job - but I wouldn't have parked my car nearby...

@RuneE: The car-breakers yard is across the road.

What a great shame! This building just looked so wonderful! I could see it being on "Grand Designs" but sadly not to be. What replaced it? Dare I ask?

@Denise Nesbitt: Demolition is still continuing so I don't yet know what will be replacing it.

Perfect word for letter D but it seems a shame to demolish a viable building.

Actually I think it a pity that this building is being demolished.

As I have said before it is always a sad day to me when a fine building is demolished even though they make fantastic documentary images.

That photo looks like a painting - spectacular! The building looked good to me - too bad it had to go.

Don't know how viable it was, but I surely prefer retrofitting old buildings to razing them. Still there's an odd beauty in the destruction, I suppose.

I'm always amazed at how they can knock down a building and have nothing escape the confines of the boundary. Takes a lot of skill!

A great photo! I hate to see old buildings demolished, but sometimes it's necessary. This looks like a scene from my area, where a historic building caught fire a year ago and had to be completely demolished. They had to be very careful not to disturb the structure of nearby buildings that have been preserved.
