Designed by H. G. Ivatt of the LMS, but built by British Rail in 1949, 41241 is preserved on the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway and is seen here leaving Keighley.

My father has always been a big fan of the old steam engines, and I can vaguely remember a few from my youth. Fantastic color effects in this photo--I agree the touch of red really catches your eye.

Love the picture. Is the rail road still functioning. I suppose the steam engine now is only reserved for the tourism purpose.

@grace and Bradley: It is quite a busy line and although run by volunteers and visited by lots of tourists it does serve the local communities too.
