I like the warm colors and the ripply distortions. What is that contraption in the foreground?

@John McDevitt: It is a pair of fishing rods

Martha from Lansdale, United States

Peaceful reflections!

I wish for you a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year!

Yes, indeed, what is that contrapion in the foreground? Something for carrying canoes? I thought it was a compstall and googled it. *blush*

I suspect I would be refreshed in both body and soul by a leisurely meander around this lake, Gerald.

I wish you health and happiness as we journey into twenty ten.

@Jule: well googling "compstall" would certainly help you put these photos in context - no need to blush.

Eileen from United States

Lovely reflections in the water, it is a peaceful scene.

Cool shot! I, too, want to know what the contraption is.

@Wayne: it is a two-rod pod

I like the colors of the reflection, but gizmo on the shore has me puzzled!
What is it?

The reflections are great, the water looks almost like an impressionist painting. But I'm with everyone else, what on earth is that thing in the foreground? Happy New Year to you.

My eyes were first drawn to the thing in the center and then to the wonderful reflection. Your walk seems both interesting and peaceful.
