The Remains of St Annes Pier Jetty

Posted by
sithenah (Greater Manchester/Cheshire, United Kingdom) on 27 April 2012 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

Following fires in 1974 and 1982 the last 300ft of St Annes pier was demolished apart from this stump which was actually a jetty at which pleasure steamers would call.

This was taken about 5 hours after high tide and an hour before sunset.

A contribution to Skywatch Friday.

What an interesting photo! The tides there must be very extreme. Beautiful sky.
